Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Our Claims Examiner 4 will investigate, evaluate and resolve claims of a more complex nature including litigations with a focus on minimizing exposure to the Company. Incumbents have up to $50,000 reserve authority; $25,000 settlement authority and $10,000 payment authority.
- Responsible for the investigation, liability determination, negotiation, financial analysis and settlement of claims.
- Lead and direct external parties (attorneys, investigators, vendors) when necessary to bring about the successful settlement of claims.
- Communicate with internal/external parties (insurance Companies/plaintiff/attorney/adjusters/witness/law enforcement, etc.) to bring about the successful settlement of claims.
- Prepare for and advocate at depositions, trials and mediations for the Company.
- Collaborate regularly with defense counsel to strategize and formulate plans for defense.
- Responsible for following claims department processes and procedures (diary/reserving/coding /contact) in an effort to bring about the appropriate settlement of claims.
- Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring
- 5+ years' complex claims experience required.
- Claims experience in transportation industry preferred.
- Claims litigation experience preferred.
- Bachelors' degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Maintain state licensing where required.
- Successful completion of claims certification schools/classes such as AIC, AEI, ARM, CPCU preferred.
- Must possess excellent investigative skills with the ability to achieve optimal conflict resolutions.
- Must possess excellent negotiation skills and be able to appropriately influence and persuade others.
- Must be able to analyze complex situations.
- Must possess excellent fact finding skills with ability to gather detailed information.
- Must be able to effectively manage multiple demands.
- Must be able to work independently or in a team environment.
Pay Range: $78,000.00 - $90,000.00 Annual, depending on experience.
